Wilderness First Aid
Wilderness First Aid is different from the Red Cross or urban first aid. Focus is on initial and prolonged care for a patient in the backcountry. WMI of NOLS are internationally recognized as the leading school teaching wilderness first aid (http://wmi.nols.edu). 60% of our course is hands-on with realistic scenarios. 40% is lecture time and demos. We promise that you will gain confidence and learn how to take care of an injured friend while having lots of fun!
Crossing Latitudes sponsors one WMI of NOLS Wilderness First Aid course in Minnesota this fall. This course is right after the Midwest Mountaineering Outdoor Expo (November 16-18) in Minneapolis. The course is for anyone with an interest in the great outdoors. For some this might be their first Wilderness First Aid course and for others the courses might be taken as a WFR recertification.
